Nassir Jones. I'm a black male based out of Atlanta moving to the Chicago Lincoln Park area around the end of July. I typically don't limit myself as it pertains to women and wanted to know the over feel of dating out of one's race in the Chicago area. I'm in an interracial relationship and have never had any trouble at all in Chicago now, other cities Right or wrong people in Chicago tend to view only relationships with blacks as interracial.
There are certainly mixed race couples in areas like Hyde Park and Oak Park and I mean where one partner is black and the other is not, but this is less common in other areas.
You don't typically see eastern europeans or hispanics except puerto ricans. I don't consider haitians or many dominicans to be hispanic though some certainly are. To be brutally honest, most of my hispanic, asian, and white friends will date outside of their race excluding people of african ancestry.
This doesn't make it right, just the way it is. And before a bunch of posters say I need to get new friends how many of you have family that doesn't consider themselves racist but would have a problem with their daughter dating a black man?
Personally, I don't care if he is blue or green so long as he treats my daughter right. I have never heard of mixed race couples with one black partner having problems other than maybe the occasional strange look. As I alluded to before mixed race couples involving all races except blacks are seen as a non issue these days, particularly with hispanics as this might have been an issue even one generatio ago.
Been apart of a few too.

Aside from that, lets not make this into a big race debate. That has been done in other thre more than a few times.
Last edited by Avengerfire; at PM. I know a lot of hispanics, mexican and south american and central american who will not date a black male. Yes, this is mostly because of their family dogma which another poster referred to ly, but only for whites. Puerto Ricans are often a mix of several races, including black and will often date blacks.
I don't many Mexicans and I know a lot who will. Seriously though and most yuppies on here are completely ignorant of this from living in gentrified areas if a black person is even 10 percent puerto rican, they will identify themselves as puerto rican, not black. You who have puerto rican friends know this is true. Originally Posted by Avengerfire. Who made you the supreme judge and commander of who seems racist, who might be racist, and who is a racist?
