La Lechonera Latina is a must when you are in the Orlando area and want to try authentic Puerto Rican food. Pigeon peas with rice, roasted pork and fried green plantains are to die for and portions are quite generous. The quality of food is also great, since it is always replenished during the entire day.

You have people in and out of that place, so you are always getting fresh food. I would highly it recommend it and will comeback one of these days I am back in Orlando. Food tasted like a home cooked meal. The prices were very reasonable and the portions great. Very flavorful and everything was cooked on point. Will definitely will go back for my next visit in Orlando. Authentic Puerto Rican food. We tried they pernil was perfectly cooked moist and great flavor, even the stewed beef, mofogo was good too maybe put some more pork skin on it. Portions are huge enough food for two or for someone like me who likes to eat.

The rice had had a slightly weird flavor but everything else was delicious. It is definitely a place I want to visit again in my next trip to Orlando. We drove about 45 minutes to try this restaurant based upon some rave reviews from co-workers.

WELL worth the trip. The location is a bit odd--it's obviously a converted gas station but that just adds a bit to the quirkiness of this venue. You walk the line and add rice, entrees and sides like Chipotle. There were over 8 different types of rice alone black beans in rice, white rice with black beans added, yellow rice, a Chinese-style pork-fried rice, etc.

I wish they had put labels on the dishes so I'd know what to try next. The entrees are too many to even begin to list. We tried pernil, fried plantains, black beans and rice, teriyaki chicken, rice ball, mashed plantains, and mofongo. They were very, very good. Odd,but probably the best teriyaki chicken I've ever had--and it was at a Latin restaurant. There's little atmosphere here.

Just a few booths in the front and some along the side. It seems the bulk of the business is take out. There were probably 10 dishes I wanted to try but just couldn't possibly try on this trip. We will be back. Great place--very busy--a lot of turnover of the food so I"m sure it's always fresh.

One of our favorite restaurants in Orlando now. Just wish it wasn't so far away. Location: This restaurant is in an old gas station location. Parking is just like it used to be. You either park in some of the front spots as you would in a gas station is in a spot where you would normally place your vehicle where gas pumps used to exist. Can get pretty busy out there and getting in and out slightly annoying. Booth seating seems limited to about 6 and another seating area to the left when you walk in to the restaurant.

You form a line towards the right and make your way down a long line of food items including a variety if rice, beef, chicken, fish, sides plantains, macaroni sal, yuca, etc. Then you make your way to the register where you can add a drink or some pastries to your order. Food: The food was good. This restaurant has a huge variety of proteins all cooked different ways. A variety of rice options too and sides.

My ride was well cooked and tasty. Kids had white rice and black beans which they enjoyed. My daughter has a flat iron type chicken breaststroke that she enjoyed as well. Sweet plantains and tostones were good as well. I noticed the sweet plantains come from a frozen bag, of that makes any difference to your decision to have any. Other bakeries in Orlando offer much better of the same pastries. Service: It was busy. Ordering seemed a little overwhelming as they would ask you to pass people as they were with a larger party or holding up the line deciding.

Staff was polite and some just seemed in a rush. Price: Prices were about as expected. The portions are decent. The food is already made, hot and ready to go.
